Privacy Policy — Starlight Astrology

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Starlight Astrology ("the app") is developed by Lorenzo Antonio Perez ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Summary

Starlight Astrology is built to keep your data on your device. There is no account system, no server-side database, and no analytics or tracking embedded in the app. Almost everything you enter — chart names, birth dates, birth times, and saved chart data — stays locally on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

What Data the App Stores

The app stores the following information locally on your device, using your browser's or device's local storage:

None of this data is sent to us or to any third party. It exists only on your device and is fully under your control. You can export it to a JSON file for backup, or delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

What Data Leaves Your Device

The app makes outbound network requests in two situations only:

City lookup (geocoding). When you type a city name to add or edit a chart, the app sends that city name as plain text to Nominatim, a free geocoding service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, in order to convert it into geographic coordinates. No other information about you or your chart is included in this request. See Nominatim's usage policy and the OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy for details on how they handle this request.

Premium purchase. If you choose to unlock the premium features ($5.00, one-time), the app opens a Stripe-hosted checkout page in your browser. We never see, collect, or store your payment card details — that information is handled entirely by Stripe. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, via a license code you enter back into the app. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

What We Do Not Do

Children's Privacy

Starlight Astrology is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, and given the app's local-only storage design, no data is collected from any user in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds new functionality that changes how data is handled — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
